Brandon Bishop
He/They
Brandon Bishop is one of the co-owners of SRYBB Foods, a vegetarian and plant-based food pop up and caterer in Denver, Colorado. Brandon is the son of a Mexican immigrant and the values their family instilled in them is what drove them to create SRYBB. Growing up, Brandon moved around the country frequently, and would frequently travel back to Bakersfield, California to spend time with family and fall further in love with Mexican food. Brandon has always loved food and bringing people together, so creating SRYBB was a no brainer. Brandon wanted to contribute to Denver’s food scene and create plant-based Mexican food that felt true to them and the food they grew up with.
Co-owning SRYBB has brought so much joy and connection to Brandon. One of their favorite parts about owning SRYBB is being a part of so many amazing events in Denver such as VegFest, CinemaQ, ThemFaire, and Queer Bazaar. Another highlight is making people happy through food and showcasing how delicious plant-based eating is.
Brandon would like to thank Spencer Young, Soleil LaBeija, Shan Broom, Brent Taylor, Eva Esakoff, Allison Young, Mark Young, and their family for the support to pursue SRYBB. Brandon looks forward to many more years of SRYBB and continuing to create delicious plant-based eating for Denver.

Charles Brennan
He/Him/His
Charles Brennan is the Director of Income and Housing Policy at the Colorado Center on Law and Policy, where he works to advance economic security and housing stability for low-income Coloradans. His work focuses on wage and job quality protections, tenants’ and mobile home park residents’ rights, public benefit access, and consumer protections—all with an eye toward building systems that are equitable, accessible, and centered on the needs of those most often left behind.
His work is grounded in the principle of solidarity: that injustice against one group is a threat to all who live at the margins. This perspective often brings his advocacy into direct alignment with LGBTQ+ issues. For example, his advocacy to tipped workers’ wages and combat wage theft directly supports LGBTQ+ workers—who are overrepresented in the restaurant industry, face higher rates of economic insecurity, and are more likely to experience wage theft and harassment from customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
He is driven by a deep sense of responsibility to confront structural injustice and ensure that the opportunities available to some are extended to all. Charles believes we already have the resources to build a more just and inclusive society—what’s needed is the will to act.
Outside of work, Charles enjoys gardening, skiing, and exploring Colorado’s natural beauty with his partner Alex and their dog Cortez.

He’s especially focused on supporting underrepresented communities, young people, and small business owners through initiatives that center dignity and accessibility.
As a gay Latino man raised by a resilient family, Ken’s path to authenticity was not easy. His coming out story was marked by isolation and challenge, with few visible support systems. That experience continues to shape his leadership today, driving his commitment to creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and connected, especially those who may have once felt alone.
His work across business and civic life reflects a simple but powerful goal: to build communities that reflect the strength, creativity, and resilience of the people who live in them.

Billie Mari Grant
Incomplete without heart-shaped sunglasses, a tube of bubbles and a book she won’t finish for many months, it has been said that Billie runs on giggles and glitter. It’s this same joy and creativity that she brings to community.
With nearly three decades of organizing experience, 18 years of education experience and several certifications in sexual health, DECR (diversity, equity and cultural responsibility) and movement building with legislative literacy, she returned to her hometown of Denver, Colorado in February of 2022.
Not only is her labor passion-driven but she lives a passion-driven life. Billie believes kitchens and cars are wonderful places for a dance party, that taking time to write a postcard is better than sending a text, that no one is free until we all are free, and it is always the right time for a milkshake.
Her deep commitment to community stewardship is actualized through her volunteer work with the community fridges, Denver zine library and girls rock camps worldwide. Her TL;DR: likes include interdependence, dark academia, really lil’ things and bubbles. With her dislikes being willful ignorance, mushrooms and unexpected hikes proposed as “walks.”

Kat McManus
She/Her
My name is Kat McManus, and four years ago, I moved to Colorado in search of a life where I could openly embrace my identity as a pansexual woman who chooses to be with a heterosexual man. Moving to Loveland, I quickly realized it was more conservative than expected, which motivated me to create a more inclusive community.
Recognizing the contentious nature of Pride celebrations here, where acceptance seemed limited to a select few, I felt compelled to organize an event that welcomed everyone. The initial backlash from within the LGBTQIA+ community accused me of appropriating something sacred, while others, new to the area, expressed gratitude. This sparked a conversation about the importance of education within our town, surpassing the significance of Pride itself.
Our first event drew over 400 attendees, far exceeding our expectations, and grew to 1,000 the following year. As our Pride event expanded, so did community support, evident in local councils and school boards. The tragic loss of young lives to hate in Loveland galvanized us to reclaim our space and demand visibility, resulting in more businesses proudly displaying Pride flags and official proclamations honoring our community.
Founding the Rainbow Collective has not been without challenges; harassment and threats have endangered my family. However, forging alliances with organizations like Rocky Mountain Equality has strengthened our resolve. Together, we focus on community building and education, aiming to redefine Loveland as a town that stands by its LGBTQIA+ population year-round.
Receiving recognition for this work reaffirms that Loveland deserves more than small-town animosity. The Rainbow Collective strives to remove stigma and secure lasting support for LGBTQIA+ individuals across businesses, government, and our community. I am honored to receive this award, knowing it fuels our commitment to a more inclusive Loveland.

Nick Pearson
He/Him
Nick Pearson is a proud gay Colorado native and longtime leader on the corporate side of the outdoor industry, having held executive roles including Chief Sales Officer, Sales Director, and Co-Founder at top outdoor brands. But his proudest title these days? Founder and Executive Director of Sober Outdoors.
In 2022, after finding sobriety himself, Nick launched Sober Outdoors, a nonprofit that helps people impacted by Substance Use Disorder reconnect with the healing power of nature and a community that gets it. What began as a few friends hiking together has grown into a multi-state movement that’s now active in six states, offering free outdoor-based recovery experiences to those who need them most.
At the heart of the mission is a bold belief: nature heals, and everyone deserves access to that lifeline—especially those often left behind. That’s why Sober Outdoors focuses intentionally on underserved communities, including LGBTQIA+ folks, people in early recovery, those without financial access to treatment or gear, and anyone who’s been told they don’t belong in the outdoors or in recovery spaces.
Whether it’s a sunrise hike, a backcountry overnight, or a workshop on mental health and recovery, Sober Outdoors shows up with empathy, accessibility, and adventure—no lectures, no red tape. Just boots on dirt, hearts on sleeves, and a deep understanding that healing happens when we move, connect, and breathe together outside.
By Nick’s side is Ruger, his golden retriever and the official ambassador of tail-wags and trailhead greetings. Together, they’ve welcomed hundreds of people into a community built on hope, fresh air, and no-strings-attached support.
Today, just three years in, Sober Outdoors is operating in six states, offering free events and gear to make outdoor recovery accessible, prioritizing equity and inclusion in every mile and meeting, and building a nationwide model for outdoor-based recovery that centers joy—not just survival.
Nick brings a rare blend of executive-level leadership, lived recovery experience, and radical empathy to everything he does. He’s walked the road—and the trail—himself. And he’s on a mission to make sure no one has to walk it alone.

Taylar Stultz
I’m the proud owner of Herbal Mocktails, a mobile nonalcoholic mocktail bar dedicated to crafting refreshing, herb-infused drinks that celebrate nature’s best flavors. Combining my love for plants and creativity, I curate unique beverages that nourish the body and delight the senses—perfect for any occasion where people want to enjoy something special without alcohol.
My passion for plants runs deep, both in my business and personal life. When I’m not mixing up vibrant, botanical mocktails, you’ll likely find me in my flower garden, tending to blooms and soaking in the simple joys of nature. Gardening fuels my creativity and keeps me grounded, reminding me of the beauty and balance I strive to bring into everything I do.
At Herbal Mocktails, I believe that wellness and celebration can go hand in hand. Whether it’s a wedding, corporate event, or intimate gathering, my goal is to provide a memorable experience with drinks that inspire refreshment and connection—no alcohol required.
With each creation, I aim to highlight the power of natural ingredients and encourage people to savor moments consciously and joyfully. It’s more than a drink; it’s an invitation to slow down, enjoy, and reconnect with what’s natural and nourishing.

Spencer Young
They/Them
Since I was 14 years old, I have been in love with food. I have been fascinated and enamored with the entire process of disparate ingredients coming together in a delicious, cohesive dish. (Most of the time, at least; there are misses.) What’s more, I adore what food means: community, sharing, family and friends forging memories together. Food binds us all. And when I had the opportunity to start my own food business, I jumped at the chance to feed the community that has done so much for me and others. I couldn’t be more proud showcasing both mine and my business partner’s heritage through our Mexican-Americana fare, and I am incredibly honored to be selected as a 40 Under 40 Business Leaders Honoree.
